FAQs

Here are the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) I receive as a wedding photographer. I hope this will help clear your head a little during your planning process!

STYLE

WHAT IS FINE ART DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY?

It’s all about the details and unforgettable moments. I begin your day by photographing your details. Details, such as your invitation suites, wedding dress, jewelry, garter, perfume, flowers, shoes for the bride, cuff links, groom’s shoes, and any special details that the groom may have. I feel it’s important to have a balance between candid and fine art. This is where the ‘Documentary’ part of my photography fits in! As you get into your dress, these moments are very emotional for your family and friends and I enjoy to capture the reactions between you and those you love. I photograph these special bonding moments before the couple shares their first look and takes their walk down the aisle. Gently guiding my couples and selecting the best light and setting to create beautiful images, I want to capture the true essence of the perfect day they have created. This means taking on the role of storyteller; absorbing my surroundings and the emotions that fill it to anticipate and capture real, authentic moments. Moments that can’t be staged or recreated. Moments that are raw and full of true emotion. After the of flowers have wilted, the cake has been cut, and the dress has been tucked away, your photographs will be here to commemorate your special day.

BOOKING ME

HOW DOES THE BOOKING PROCESS WORK?

If you’re happy that I’m the photographer for you, all you have to do is call or e-mail to let me know you’d like to book.  I’ll then send you a contract to complete and return to me, and information on how to pay the booking retainer to secure the date.

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?

I’ve been documenting weddings parties from 90 guests to 5 people intimate ceremonies. Have a look at the investment page for more information and let me know more about your adventure via the contact page for full pricing pages and full galleries for review.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR OUT OF SEASON OR WEEKDAY WEDDINGS?

Occasionally discounts are available but these are dependent on uniqueness of your day.

CAN YOU HOLD A DATE FOR ME?

No, there are no holding dates in wedding photography. Contract and booking fee are required.

WHEN SHOULD WE BOOK?

Popular dates like summer weekends usually get booked a year in advance, therefore, it’s advised to get in touch as soon as you start planning your event. I only document up to 15 weddings a year and all the bookings are done on a first-come, first-served basis. Do get in touch via email or contact page.

TRAVEL

WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
I’m based in the Kaunas, in the heart of Lithuania.

DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?
Just tell me the place & I’ll be there.

YOUR PHOTOS

HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE GET AND HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE THEM?
For standard wedding coverage, I deliver around 400+ images. It always depends on how busy and how big your wedding is and how long I’m staying during the day. All photographs are delivered within 90 working days after your wedding day.

WILL YOUR IMAGES BE EDITED?
All images supplied are carefully edited by myself. You’ll be provided with a selection of color and black and white images. I do take editing very seriously as it’s as creative as the actual taking of photographs and helps me to tell your story throughout my style.

HOW WILL WE RECEIVE OUR PHOTOS?

Your photos will be delivered via a private online gallery and printed and matted photos, beautifully packed in a handcrafted keepsake box with the USB. As soon as they’re ready I send an email with a link to your gallery. Your images can be downloaded and the gallery shared with family and friends. I then prepare your keepsake box with photos, USB and send it through the post shortly afterward.

WHO OWNS THE COPYRIGHT TO THE IMAGES?

The copyright of the images always stays with me as the photographer but I give you the right to reproduce the images in any way you wish. The only thing you can’t do is use the images for commercial use or resale.

CAN WE HAVE THE ORIGINALS / RAWS?

No. It’s industry-standard that wedding photographers never provide the originals / RAWS. I will never hold any amazing images from you! I pick the best ones, I cull the blinkers and stinkers. You have chosen me as your photographer because you love my style and trust in my trained eye.

DO YOU HAVE A BACKUP?

Yes, of course. I use backup cameras to make sure I’m covered in case of any equipment failure as well as multiple backups in the office to make sure your images are safely captured and stored and backed up for years to come.

EXTRA STUFF

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
I’ve been photographing weddings in Lithuania since my return to the homeland in 2013. Before that, I worked as an assistant, second and main wedding photographer in Grand Junction, Colorado.

CAN WE MEET YOU?
Yes. I always try to meet my couples. It’s a great opportunity to discuss your wedding plans and simply get to know each other.

DO YOU OFFER ALBUMS?
Yes. Photos belong on Paper not on your phone. Also, a risk with only owning digital files is the ever-changing world of technology. You never know when something new will come along and render all of your old digital media obsolete. As long as you have your eyesight you’ll always be able to enjoy your album. Each Fine Art Wedding Album is handcrafted and made with quality built to last.

DO YOU DO ENGAGEMENT/ PRE-WEDDING SHOOTS?
Yes, I do and if you’re not usually that keen on having your photograph taken then this is a great opportunity to get used to the camera (and me) before the day. Sessions usually last up to two hours and are always a laid back and fun way of making some great portraits of you together.

ARE YOU LGBT FRIENDLY?
Yes! Absolutely!! Love is love.

DO YOU HAVE TESTIMONIALS FROM PAST CLIENTS?
Definitely, check out my testimonials page for kind words from recent couples.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I shoot with professional Canon digital cameras and lenses and always carry back-up equipment.
