Kelionės tikslas – vestuvių fotosesija Italijoje. Vestuvės turėjo vykti gegužės mėnesį Kretos saloje, kelionė būtų trukusi 4 dienas, buvo viskas rezervuota ir užsakyta: skrydžiai, viešbučiai, dekoratorė, ir t.t. Bet prasidėjusi pandemija, vestuves nukėlė į rugpjūčio pabaigą. Planuotoja su visais susitarė ir viską perkėlė. Vasarą situacija buvo jau daug geresnė, buvo vėl galima keliauti.
Prasidėjus rugpjūčiui, buvome vis dar ramūs, bet jau mėnesio vidury, iš kelionių agentūros gavome neraminančias naujienas. Graikijoje situacija prastėja, gali būti, kad skrydžiai bus atšaukti. Taip ir nutiko. Taigi, jaunųjų vestuvės Kretoje su artimaisiais nuplaukė. Jaunieji dabar turėjo du pasirinkimus: arba nuleisti rankas arba sutikti su kelionių agentūros pasiūlymu – savaitės kelionė į Italiją, tarp lietuvių mažai populiarų Kalabrijos regioną. Jaunieji pasirinko antrąjį variantą. Iš būrio svečių liko tik jaunieji, planuotoja, aš bei videografas. Tačiau, sužinojus, kad grįžus iš po kelionės, reikės 14 dienų karantinuotis – videografas pasitraukė iš šios avantiūros. Aš peržiūrėjus kalendorių – sutikau. Planuotoja Greta iš Tender Ones, vėl viską iš naujo suplanavo. Greta – laisvai kalba itališkai, mūsų išsigelbėjimas, patarėja, vertėja visos kelionės metu. Be jos italų kalbos žinojimo, mes būtume pražuvę, anglų kalba neišgelbėtų mūsų.
Taip rugpjūčio pabaigoje, tuščiu lėktuvu, aš, planuotoja bei jaunieji išskridome savaitei į Kalabriją, Italiją. Jau sėdėdami lėktuve žinojome, kad mūsų atgaliniai bilietai yra atšaukti. Išskridome paskutiniu reisu į Italiją. Kaip grįšime atgalios, sugalvojome savaitės bėgyje.

Jau planuodami kelionę ir vestuvių fotosesiją, žinojome, kad bus ir povestuvinė fotosesija Italijoje. Tai buvo mano dovana jauniesiems. Juk taip gera fotografuoti lietuvių akiai neįprastas vietas, jaunųjų fotogeniškumą ir norą fotografuotis. Tam tikslui paskyrėme dieną prieš vestuvinę fotosesiją.
Povestuvinė fotosesija Italijoje, įvyko Scilla miestelyje, mūsų antrąją kelionės dieną. Ryte susiruošus, pasirinkus rūbus išvykome.
Pirmoji fotosesijos dalis vyko alyvmedžių sode, kurią radome važiuodami link Scillos.
The purpose of the trip was a wedding photo session in Italy. The wedding was supposed to take place in May on the island of Crete, and the trip would have lasted four days, with everything reserved and booked: flights, hotels, decorator, etc. But when the pandemic started, the wedding was postponed to the end of August. The planner agreed with everyone and rescheduled everything. By summer, the situation had improved, and travel was possible again.
As August started, everything seemed calm, but in the middle of the month, the travel agency informed us that the situation in Greece was worsening, and it was possible that flights would be cancelled. This eventually happened. So, the wedding with the family members in Crete failed. The couple now had two choices: either give up or accept the travel agency’s offer of a one-week trip to Italy’s Calabria region, which was not popular among Lithuanians. They chose the second option. Only the couple, the planner, me, and the videographer remained from the group of guests. However, after learning that a 14-day quarantine would be required after returning from the trip, the videographer withdrew from this adventure. After looking at the calendar, I agreed. Planner Greta from Tender Ones replanned everything again. Greta was our salvation, advisor, and translator during the entire trip, fluent in Italian. Without her knowledge of Italian, we would have perished, and English would not have saved us.
So, at the end of August, on an empty plane, the planner, the couple, and I flew to Calabria, Italy, for a week. As soon as we boarded the plane, we knew that our return tickets had been cancelled. We took the last flight to Italy and figured out how to get back over the course of a week.

When we were planning the trip and the wedding photo session, we knew that there would also be a post-wedding photo session in Italy. This was my gift to the couple. After all, it is so great to photograph places unsuitable for Lithuanian eyes, the photogenic nature of the couple, and the desire to take pictures. For this purpose, we set aside the day before the wedding photo session.
The post-wedding photo session in Italy took place in the town of Scilla on the second day of our trip. After getting ready in the morning and choosing clothes, we left.
The first part of the photo shoot took place in an olive grove that we found on our way to Scilla.
Atvykus į Scillą, nuotaka Eglė apsivilko prabangią Max Maros suknelę, kuri taip tiko prie supančios aplinkos. Išvaikštinėjome visą senamiestį!
Upon arrival in Scilla, the bride Eglė put on a luxurious Max Mara dress, which suited the surrounding environment so well. We toured the entire old town!
Vakarėjant nuvykome į apžvalgos aikštelę. Ji populiari tarp Italijos jaunųjų, nes iš jos atsiveria nuostabi miestelio panorama. Čia, planuotoja Greta, pravedė jaunųjų įžadų ceremoniją.
In the evening we went to the observation deck. It is popular among newlyweds Italians because it offers a wonderful panorama of the town. Greta, the planner, conducted the wedding ceremony here.
Po įžadų ceremonijos, vakarą užbaigėme vakarieniaudami restorane su nuostabiu vaizdu.
Šeštąją kelionės dieną mes vykome į Tropea miestą. Ji atsiveria į Tirėnų jūrą, iš tikrųjų yra viena iš labiausiai užburiančių vietų Kalabrijos pakrantėje. Tokioje nuostabioje vietoje, neištvėriau ir vėl fotografavau Eglę ir Regimantą.
On the sixth day of the trip, we went to the city of Tropea. It opens onto the Tyrrhenian Sea, in fact one of the most enchanting places on the Calabrian coast. In such a wonderful place, I couldn’t resist and took pictures of Egle and the Regiment again.
